In 1933, he entered the Dominican order and was ordained as a priest in 1939. Following “Action K”
(monasteries) in 1950, he was hiding in his native Orava. He was found guilty in 1952 for taking
confessions of members of the White Legion, and was sentenced for life for treason. After his release,
he spent his time illegally developing the activities of the Dominicans and by doing so became the
“father of Slovak Dominicans”.
