He was tried already as medicine student during the so-called Kolakovič affair in 1946, and after the rise of the communist regime he experienced brutal time in the pre-trial detention cell: they broke his ribs, smashed his head into the wall until he was unconscious. After 1989, they offered him political positions, but he devoted himself to antisocials.
