František Kubala sentenced for high-treason

Kubala was the main helper of F. Reves when organizing escapes of religious people abroad. His intensive cooperation with Reves lasted from July 1951 to May 1952. F. Kubala has showed that he is a cautious and tireless organizer of escapes of monks and priests from concentration monasteries. Many of whom found safe hiding place with him before emigrating and eventually, he secured the emigration through Reves. People who cannot be excluded are secretly ordained bishop Pavol Hnilica and a known poet Andrej Šublík-Žarnov. The State Secret Police arrested Kubala and he was brough before a jury with an accusation of high-treason. He was sentenced to 15 years of prison.
