3. December. 1952
Vladimír Clementis was born on 20th September 1902 in Tisovec to an evangelical teachers’ family. He was brought up in national and humane spirit. When Czechoslovakia was being split – in 1938 – he emigrated to France. In March 1950 he was subjected to a fabricated critique, accused of „bourgeoisie nationalism“, of hostile attitude towards the USSR and of intellectual relationship to the party. He was dismissed from the position of Head of the Foreign Relations department and put under constant watch from the Secret State Police. In January 1951 Clementis was arrested and during the trial he was added to a lawsuit with „bourgeoisie nationalists“ in a trial against the „anti-state conspiracy centre of Rudolf Slánský“. In this fabricated trial, he was sentenced to death on the 27th of November 1952 and on the 3rd of December 1952 was executed on the grounds of the Prague prison in Ruzyně.
