12. January. 1951

On the 7th of December 1961, a witness of the faith, former prefect and rector of seminary, aiding-bishop of Trnava and war vicar Mons. Michal Buzalka died. He was actively helping persecuted people in years 1939-1945. After the coup-d’état by the communist party, he himself was subject to persecutions. In 1950, he was arrested and a year later was sentenced to life imprisonment in a fabricated trial together with Bishop Ján Vojtaššák and Pavol Peter Gojdič. After his sentence was put on hold, he lived in a concentration monastery in Bohemia.
